A book compiling Kyohei Sakaguchi's cooking and reflections. This new style of cookbook includes "cook 1" and "cook 2," 30-day cooking diaries, and a newly written essay, "What is Cooking?"

This book contains almost no recipes or explanations of cooking techniques. Through photos and handwritten texts documenting daily cooking, it describes the quiet process by which cooking, living, and creating connect. Drawing from his own experience with manic depression, Sakaguchi states that cooking is an activity that restores the "ability to think about tomorrow" and a daily routine that reawakens creativity.

In "What is Cooking?", included at the end of the book, Sakaguchi uses Henri Bergson's philosophy as a clue to consider cooking not merely as a household chore or a skill, but as an act that cultivates the inherent human creativity. He positions cooking as a practice of embracing uncertainty and enjoying change in life. The content, which frames cooking in this way, can be read as a philosophy of life that transcends the boundaries of a cookbook.

A book that changes how one views the world through cooking and re-examines the very act of living. A unique collection by Kyohei Sakaguchi, where a photo diary, essay, and art book overlap.
