Pierre Bonnard (1867-1947)

Born in Fontenay-aux-Roses, France. Painter, printmaker.

While studying law, he also received art education and began his career as a member of the Nabis in the late 1880s. While also working on decorative arts, posters, and printmaking, he developed his unique color expression.

He created many works with diverse colors and an intimate perspective, focusing on interiors, gardens, and daily life with his family. He is known as one of the representative painters of 20th-century French art.

Representative works include "Nude in the Bath," "The Dinner Table," "Terrace at Vernon," and "The White Cat."

Major collections include the Musée d'Orsay, Centre Pompidou, Tate, Kunsthistorisches Museum, and the Museum of Modern Art, New York.
