Shoji Yamaguchi (1944-)
Born in Qingdao, China in 1944. Resides in Mitaka City, Tokyo.
Karakuri toy researcher.
His interest in karakuri toys was sparked during an overseas assignment in London. He was captivated by the British Cabaret Mechanical Theatre karakuri toys he encountered in a small shop in Wimbledon.
Since then, he has collected and researched Japanese folk toys and ethnic toys from overseas.
Member of the Japan Folk Toy Association.
