The third volume in the "Black & White Note" series by Jun Abe. This photobook re-selects photographs from a vast collection of contact sheets taken in the 1980s and 1990s, and reconstructs them into new relationships.

Jun Abe has spent many years walking the streets, primarily in Osaka, pursuing the possibilities of street photography. In this book, he deliberately dismantles classification by shooting date, location, or theme, and instead selects photographs by alternating, for example, one bundle from 1980s contact sheets and one from the 1990s. Freed from their original context, these photographs create new resonances across time and place.

As Abe himself says, "My rigid ideas about photography have largely dissolved," and this book is filled with the freedom and joy of arranging photographs. While being snap photographs, the composition transcends narrative and record, highlighting the light, floating sensation and visual面白さ inherent in photography itself.

Jun Abe has pioneered his own unique expression while inheriting the lineage of Kansai photography. This collection allows fragments of street corners to quietly resonate with each other, reminding us of the sheer pleasure of looking at photographs.
